Meditating on the nature of God is one of the fundamental means of developing strong inner strength against the vicissitudes of life. Nevertheless, due to the challenge in our present society to seek fast food, fast delivery services and fast everything, many Christians have developed the habit of seeking quick food for their souls by relying only on the words of preachers of the gospel. Although this is good and should not be jettisoned. Time to meditate on God’s truth to establish one’s heart in the faith seems to have become a lost art. 

In Christ City Church, we believe that besides pastors providing sound and faithful messages from the pulpit to feed God’s people, it is the personal responsibility of Christians to feed their own souls through meditation on the nature, values, and laws or principles of God. 

An effective way of achieving this is by meditating on the Scriptures. Meditating on the Scriptures is in agreement with the success formula God gave Joshua in Joshua 1.8, “…you shall meditate [on my truths] day and night in order to make your way prosperous and to be able to make intelligent choices.’
